HARRISON PARK COUNCIL PUTS FRIENDS OF SANDY LAKE AIS REQUESTS ON HOLD

The Council of the Municipality passed the following resolution at their December 12, 2017 meeting:

Whereas Administration has begun to prepare a special service area plan for AIS specifically for the properties in and around Sandy Lake and;

​

whereas council has reviewed the information prepared to date;

​

Therefore be it resolved that the special service area plan for the AIS, specifically for the properties in and around Sandy Lake be tabled until such time as the Province of Manitoba commits to an effective AIS prevention strategy for western Manitoba.

Daryl Kines has spoken with the Reeve and CAO of Harrison Park to confirm that activity on the AIS file has been halted.  To that end, the Friends of Sandy Lake committee has requested time to speak with council at their next meeting which will be held on January 9, 2018 at the municipal offices in Onanole.
